Anushka & Dan
Anushka and Dan’s Indian fusion wedding was two very different days that still felt like one love story. On the first, a traditional South Indian Hindu ceremony surrounded by family. On the second, a relaxed, elegant civil ceremony and reception in the heart of Sydney. We planned both over one winter weekend in July.
Day one: the South Indian Hindu ceremony at Springfield House
Springfield House in Dural gave us a beautiful historic setting. Guests arrived to live music and drinks in the garden, with flower petals and programmes waiting on the chairs. Dan walked to the mandap first, then Anushka made her entrance with her parents, accompanied by live music. Afterwards, the couple went straight to their guests for photos and hugs. There were no formal lineups, just candid moments. Urban Tadka then served lunch in the dining room: chaat, barbecue, a full buffet, then desserts and a chai station. To finish, the couple slipped away for a quiet portrait session in the grounds.
Day two: vows at The Calyx
The next afternoon began with a buggy ride through the Royal Botanic Garden and portraits by the Opera House. Anushka and Dan then arrived at The Calyx and saw the finished styling for the first time. The civil ceremony was intimate and personal: Anushka walked in with her dad, the couple read their own vows and signed the register with their siblings as witnesses.
The reception
Canapés and drinks flowed as the evening fell. Inside, the celebration took on a rhythm of its own: a haka, heartfelt speeches from family, and three sets from live band Limited Edition that kept the dance floor full. In place of a traditional cake, each table had its own tiramisu from The Tiramore. It was a small detail that guests are still talking about.
Our role
We planned and styled the wedding from start to finish, with our Lead Stylist Meesha shaping the look. That covered building and tracking the budget across both days, shortlisting and booking suppliers, and designing the timelines. On both days we ran everything, so Anushka, Dan and their families could be fully present.
