Our story
Shaadi Baraat & Co is a team of six. Between us we’ve come from accounting, genetics, counselling, UX design, optometry, psychology and construction — and several of us planned our own weddings before we ever planned anyone else’s.
That’s not a coincidence. Every one of us arrived here because we like the part most people find overwhelming: the detail, the logistics, the hundred moving pieces of a celebration that runs across several days and several venues.
Since 2022, we’ve planned and coordinated Indian and South Asian weddings across Sydney and beyond — both faith-based and civil ceremonies, for couples of every background. The approach doesn’t change. We learn your family, your traditions and what actually matters to you, then we carry the load so you can be present for it.

The team
Saurabh’s journey from Chartered Accountant to wedding planner is as unusual as the weddings he creates. After more than a decade in accounting, he made a deliberate move into the wedding industry, drawn by the vibrant energy, joy and excitement of Indian weddings. His calling turned out to be crafting personalised, intentional celebrations that break away from the cookie-cutter — and that accountant’s eye for detail, organisation and precision now goes into making every wedding meticulously planned and stress-free.
Originally from Pune, Varsha moved to Sydney in her 20s and has spent over 30 years honing her skills across science and event planning.
With a background as a molecular geneticist and medical scientist, she brings scientific precision to her organisational work — and as a practising counsellor, a layer of empathy and communication that makes her invaluable to the team. Her approachable nature and ability to connect with clients’ parents make her a reassuring presence throughout the planning process.
What drives Tharuni is simple: she wants couples to actually experience their own wedding, not spend it running logistics.
She came to wedding planning after planning her own — navigating the cultural nuances, the multiple events, the moving parts — and found she genuinely loved that kind of problem-solving. Her background as a UX Designer shows in how she approaches weddings: thinking deeply about the couple’s experience, their guests’, and how the whole day flows.
Meesha combines precision, creativity and passion to bring every wedding vision to life.
Born in Delhi and raised in Sydney, her journey began in optometry, where attention to detail was everything. Planning her own wedding sparked her love for the industry. With a perfectionist’s eye and a commitment to personalised, beautifully styled weddings, she makes sure each event reflects the couple’s own vision.
Outside work, she’s usually on an outdoor adventure with family, exploring gastronomy or savouring a good wine.
Esha is a branding and marketing strategist with a love for thoughtful design. Her knack for planning and her eye for aesthetics led her to the ultimate DIY project — designing and planning her own wedding from start to finish.
She loved every moment of it, so much so that it sparked a career pivot. With a background in psychology, she realised how fulfilling it would be to help others feel confident, relaxed and fully present on their big day.
When she’s not working, Esha is by the beach, reading, or rewatching her favourite sitcoms.
Born and raised in Pune, Maurice came to Australia as an international student.
With three professional degrees in construction, he has a strong foundation in planning, coordination and problem-solving. Weddings weren’t exactly part of the master plan, but when the opportunity came along he took it — and quickly found himself drawn to the people, culture, creativity and organised chaos that make every celebration unique.
