Full Wedding Planning

M+B’s wedding was a big fat Indian wedding in the truest sense: five celebrations across one week, two family traditions brought together, and a guest list that grew from under a hundred at the first event to more than three hundred at the last. We planned all five.

The Mehndi and Garba night

The week opened on a private property on the Central Coast. The morning began quietly with a Ganesh pooja and a mandap pooja before the property filled up. Megha Patel worked on the bride’s henna through the middle of the day, and a second artist arrived in the late afternoon for the guests. Decor-a-shaan dressed the grounds, Taj Sweets & Restaurant fed everyone, and once the sun went down DJ Milan started the garba. The dancing ran until eleven.

The Sangeet

The following evening moved to the Mercure Sydney, where we took over the Grand Central room, the terrace and the pre-function space. Guests arrived to sparkling wine and Indian canapés, with a lounge corner of low ottomans and greenery and the couple’s welcome artwork running on screens at the entrance. Rather than run the family performances one by one, we stitched all five into a single medley: the MC announced it, the room sat down, and fifteen minutes later everyone was still cheering. Dinner followed, then the dance floor stayed open until close.

The Haldi

Back on the Central Coast the next morning, a smaller group of under eighty gathered for the bride’s haldi. Decor-a-shaan were on site from half past six to dress the space before the family arrived, and the whole thing had the unhurried feel of a morning at home: turmeric, teasing, photographs, then a long lunch that drifted into the afternoon.

The Hindu ceremony at Ottimo House

On the Friday, guests gathered at Ottimo House for a Hindu ceremony that drew on both families’ traditions, the bride’s Gujarati and the groom’s Bengali, under a mandap on the lawn. Around two hundred guests watched the rituals through the morning, and lunch followed on site.

The reception at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf

Two nights later came the biggest night of the week, with more than three hundred guests on the harbour at Jones Bay Wharf. Muse Weddings styled the room. The couple made their entrance through CO2 guns and fireworks at the doors, Microhire handled the sound and screens, and DJ M-Gunz held the dance floor until the lights came up.

Our role

We planned the whole wedding, five events across four venues inside a single week, and worked closely with the bride to bring her vision to life. That meant shortlisting and booking suppliers, designing every runsheet, and running each day on the ground from the first bump-in to the final bump-out, so both families could spend the week as guests rather than organisers.

Planning a full week of celebrations across several venues? That’s exactly what our Full Wedding Planning service is built for. See more of our real weddings, or tell us about yours.

Shaadi Baraat Co were recommended to us by an interstate wedding planner. We had a great experience dealing with Saurabh, Varsha and their team from the initial consultation to the very end of all our events. Saurabh and his team are very passionate about weddings and made a concerted effort to understand our vision. They handled all vendors and logistics smoothly, allowing us to focus on enjoying our special day with family and friends. We highly recommend their services!
